Happy Xmas! Yule Fairy

Happy Xmas!!
After almost 2 years of stitching i finished Yule Fairy but put her away as she is my Mums Xmas present. I found some lovely fabric in my local fabric shop and that very night i sat down to finish sewing the stocking.

It has turned out a lot better then i thought! The toes and heel are still a little boxy- as i have found on the other stockings i made- but nowhere near as bad as i expected. The sewing machine played nice so i managed to finishing sewing it after only 3 attempts at rethreading! Thats a record! I think i am finally getting better at sewing....

I thought i would include a photo of my Mum receiving the stocking Xmas day. Shes just starting to cry....good tears :)

Xmas morning was over so quickly. The kids loved it and was very excited.

Stockings
One of Esmai's main presents was a recycled dolls house. This was originally made for my sister almost 15 years ago by a neighbour. My sister has long out grown it so gave it to us for my daughter. It had been pretty beaten up, all solid but the door and windows were hanging off and it had chewing gum inside.
My partner complete redecorated it, white paint, flooring, fixed the doors and windows, wallpaper and the best bit was it was complete free, we brought some dolls and furniture but the actual house and decorating didn't cost a thing!
She has played with it for hours. Making the dolls walk up and down the stair, over and over and over- telling me off when i dont do it right!

We made a gingerbread house with the kids. It was the first one we have ever made and it was a disaster!! It was from a kit but the damn thing kept falling apaprt

Dino Hoodie

Not alot of stitching to show so i thought i would show you the Dino hoodie i made for Connor. We are covering Dinosaurs at the moment in home-school. I kinda of threw it together in 20 minutes while i was waiting for dinner. It is not neat and the stitching is very poor quality, but now i know what im doing im  planning on making a revised version, which will be neater and planned out a little better. Which will be a good thing as i have now got 2 custom orders to make, one of them being for my 18yr old sister!

Best Xmas Ever!! Pic heavy

Merry Xmas...I know im late! I hope you had a fantastic xmas. We did.

The kids were up earlyand very excited.
Connor with 2 presents from Santa
Esmai wearing her stocking
Connor asked Santa for something he could share with Esmai
Connor with His and Esmai's joint present from Santa
Esmai was equally excited about it (Excuse me looking grumpy in the background, i hate photos and i hate mornings)
Connor got his very first bike. He has wanted to learn for months. He was so excited that he didnt even finish putting his shoes on first!
Esmai got her first trike so she can learn to ride with Connor. She was very excited untill she relised that she had to be strapped in, then she kept trying to climb out.

Connor riding for the first time

Esmais Xmas day dress
I was well and truely spoilt. I got a steam cleaner and a new sewing machine which is amazing.
I have already put it to good use and have made a carrier bag holder, very quickly with no instructions. Its no where near perfect but was so much fun and so relaxing to sew.
But by far the best present i recieved was a engagment ring from Steve. I had been secretly hoping for months, but thought it wouldnt happen.
After we done the stockings and presents from family. Steve called both the children into the kitchen. Connor came out holding a little black gift bag. He came upto me and gave me to bag. Told me to open it and then He asked me if i would marry Daddy.
I said yes, and then Connor burst into tears and told me he didnt want me to marry Daddy.
After a bit of explaining about what marrige is he is quite excited about and agrees we should get married.

Update on page 3 and birthday buys!!

First of all I would like to say a massive thank you for everyone's kind words on Connors cross stitch. I read all the comments to him and he is over the moon.

I decided to sew al the black on the page so I have a rough idea of where everything is and can work in rough sections again. So all the black is now done. I then started some of the red on the wing. The colours are amazing and he picture really don't do it any justice!

Before I forget Esmai is now walking without too much help. Connor goes back to school next week.
And I will finally be able to recover from all the days out we have had. Only problem with keeping the kids busy is I end up more tired them they do!

Its my birthday next month. The way that things- money wise- are working out at the moment means I got my birthday pressies this month from my partner and children. And the best part Is I got to choose them!!

4 New charts from HAED. A Storage box to keep threads in and THE best gridding pen I  have ever found.
No more lost threads!

I still haven't finished putting all the threads in
Middle Earth- I have been after this chart forever!!!
Eternal Promise- I fell in love with this chart years ago

Storykeep-Forest Walk- His so cute
Mini Small Things

So lots to keep me busy for the next few years. Now I have to find the time and money to kit all the new buys up.

Quick update

Hi all i have been trying to do this update for days now! For some reason Blogger wouldn't let me upload pics. Very strange. So not much stitching has been done. This is because i have been practising on my sewing machines. Having 3 of them , 2 of which are vintage has given me a kick up the arse to learn how to use them. My partner is actually alot better with them then me. I aim to be able to make a custom bedding set for my daughters cot and some cute dresses and such like. I admit i have spent more time looking at patterns and fabrics then i have sewing in a straight line.

Over the weekend My partner and I brought a new cot for my daughter as her old one was way to big to fit in the cove in our bedroom. Its a pity because it was a lovely oak cotbed. Now we have a new one we have lots more room and even managed to make that side of the room nursery like. I have never been able to do a nursery room for either of my children due to lack of room and funds. So being able to do this actually made me cry alittle. It will look alot better once we have redecorated and I have made the bedding. For now though i am happy that it looks pretty-ish
Esmai seems rather happy with it too.

While doing my little bit of sewing practise i made a dinosaur for my niece. I also gave her sister the pillow i had finally finished.

Esmai has grown alittle and is a very happy girl, from morning till night shes constant smiles and giggles. Connor is doing great in school and last week received "Pablo the Parrot" (the class mascot) who was allowed to stay at our house for the weekend as he has been so well behaved! I'm unbelievably proud of him. More so since he is wearing his eye patch everyday with no fuss at all.

As i have now reached 50 followers and over 5000 page views i feel its time for a giveaway. It has been ages since i have done one. Details and entry will be in the next post. Which will possibly be written tonight or tommorow.

Hello to all the new followers!
