I started “Strength“a few nights ago. This is going to be a gift for my dad. My family is going through a very rough time at the moment and I’m hoping this will be a little help for him. He is a big fan of reading so it seemed perfect that it is a bookmark, as he also collects them.

Hellooooo
A new baby is as finished as I can get it for the moment. Tuesday I am going round to my great aunt Ann who is going to show me how to backstitch, no matter how I try it ends up looking boxy.
I started gridding strength last night and that’s almost ready to stitch.
I have major rotation problems. I have a over whelming urge to start all the new patterns I have brought but not finish any of the ones I have already started, bad bad me.

My next post should include a pic of the giveaway prizes I’m just waiting for one last item to turn up then it’s all go go go. I’m so excited about this as it will be my first giveaway. So if anyone has any hints or tips to make it go smoothly please enlighten me.

new buys, and giveaway

I’ve been spending. Hehe the new buys are:
A new baby (tatty teddy)

Sleeping beauty by Mirabilia Designs

Earth dancer by butternut road

And all for under £20 on eBay!!!

Awhile ago I brought some charts from heaven and earth designs and went uptown to get everything I need. I think after buying the bits I needed for a book keep that I won’t be buying from them again. I think there designs are lovely and look amazing but after sitting down with the manager at my local craft shop we worked out that even with a 10% discount on threads she offered me the hope design I was planning on doing for my sisters birthday will cost £91.00!!!! So sadly I won’t be able to stitch it :’(

My partner’s brother and his fiancé are pregnant!!! I started stitching the “A new baby” sampler last night. It has been years since I stitched this design, I done the same one for my son while I was pregnant.

Progress so far
I will be soon reaching my 50th post and have decieded to celebrate! So i will be having a giveaway!!! Whooo it will be my first giveaway so i am really excited and have been coming up with ideas for a few weeks. I’m sorry I haven’t updated for so long. Real life hit and boy did it hit hard.
My Nan taught me to cross stitch; it seems like years ago now. She sadly passed away last week after a long and tiring battle with cancer which she finally beat, only to lose an even harder battle with Parkinson’s. She fought until the end, she was amazing.

There hasn’t been a lot of stitching happening as I haven’t felt like it to be completely honest.
The weekend just gone we went on our first family holiday. Camping. Yeah not the best of things for someone with my health problems and damn don’t I know it!
We went to Barleylands in Essex. It was quite nice. I loved the craft village they had and spent hours wondering around little shops and stalls but was well behaved and only brought 1 skein of DMC thread as I had run out. Here’s the website it’s well worth the cold nights, spiders, and our tiny tent.
