Pathetic, Pitiful but progress....

2 Months since my last update. I had hoped to get so much more done.
For Xmas i got a new floor stand with a rolling frame, i was so excited about this but haven't been able to get on with it. The frame is not keeping my tension tight enough so i have gone back to using my hoop. I think this is part of the reason i have stitched as much as i had hoped. That and i have restarted my driving lessons and am studying for my theory.

So this is how far i have got. I am loving the colors and slowly working which parts i can make out. Its nice to have a bit more color in this page. I am  really looking forward to doing more of the telescope, but it looks like confetti hell!

Happy Xmas! Yule Fairy

Happy Xmas!!
After almost 2 years of stitching i finished Yule Fairy but put her away as she is my Mums Xmas present. I found some lovely fabric in my local fabric shop and that very night i sat down to finish sewing the stocking.

It has turned out a lot better then i thought! The toes and heel are still a little boxy- as i have found on the other stockings i made- but nowhere near as bad as i expected. The sewing machine played nice so i managed to finishing sewing it after only 3 attempts at rethreading! Thats a record! I think i am finally getting better at sewing....

I thought i would include a photo of my Mum receiving the stocking Xmas day. Shes just starting to cry....good tears :)

Xmas morning was over so quickly. The kids loved it and was very excited.

Stockings
One of Esmai's main presents was a recycled dolls house. This was originally made for my sister almost 15 years ago by a neighbour. My sister has long out grown it so gave it to us for my daughter. It had been pretty beaten up, all solid but the door and windows were hanging off and it had chewing gum inside.
My partner complete redecorated it, white paint, flooring, fixed the doors and windows, wallpaper and the best bit was it was complete free, we brought some dolls and furniture but the actual house and decorating didn't cost a thing!
She has played with it for hours. Making the dolls walk up and down the stair, over and over and over- telling me off when i dont do it right!

We made a gingerbread house with the kids. It was the first one we have ever made and it was a disaster!! It was from a kit but the damn thing kept falling apaprt

Best Xmas Ever!! Pic heavy

Merry Xmas...I know im late! I hope you had a fantastic xmas. We did.

The kids were up earlyand very excited.
Connor with 2 presents from Santa
Esmai wearing her stocking
Connor asked Santa for something he could share with Esmai
Connor with His and Esmai's joint present from Santa
Esmai was equally excited about it (Excuse me looking grumpy in the background, i hate photos and i hate mornings)
Connor got his very first bike. He has wanted to learn for months. He was so excited that he didnt even finish putting his shoes on first!
Esmai got her first trike so she can learn to ride with Connor. She was very excited untill she relised that she had to be strapped in, then she kept trying to climb out.

Connor riding for the first time

Esmais Xmas day dress
I was well and truely spoilt. I got a steam cleaner and a new sewing machine which is amazing.
I have already put it to good use and have made a carrier bag holder, very quickly with no instructions. Its no where near perfect but was so much fun and so relaxing to sew.
But by far the best present i recieved was a engagment ring from Steve. I had been secretly hoping for months, but thought it wouldnt happen.
After we done the stockings and presents from family. Steve called both the children into the kitchen. Connor came out holding a little black gift bag. He came upto me and gave me to bag. Told me to open it and then He asked me if i would marry Daddy.
I said yes, and then Connor burst into tears and told me he didnt want me to marry Daddy.
After a bit of explaining about what marrige is he is quite excited about and agrees we should get married.

Page Finish!!

I finished page 5 last night. It took a lot longer then I expected but I haven't had a chance to sit down and stitch like I normally do. I am thinking of putting this away for a few months and working on other things.

The kids are doing good.
Esmai is into climbing everything. She can now climb out of her highchair, pushchair and cot.
Me and Connor have been making salt dough Xmas decorations instead of sending cards to family. They were a lot of fun

Connor Wrote and sent his letter to Santa.

"Dear Santa.
How do you deliver our presents when we haven't got a chimney?
Why do you use the chimney when the door would be easier?
  Please may I have:
  • a big long present

  • a moneycat????
  • a bath toy
  • a scooter
  • a little black top like mummy's
  • a TATTOO !!!

Xmas

Hello. I hope everyone had a great Xmas, we did!

The kids loved it and Esmai done very well at eating tearing the paper. Connor was well and truly spoilt, main presents included a guitar and the whole Octonaughts set, walkie talkies, ben 10 toys, remote control cars and battle tanks!!

I got loads including my very first ring sling, which is taking some getting used to. Perfume, a tablet (when it turns up), hair dryer and straightner set, and a very pretty watch.

Esmai had a chance to finally wear her Xmas nappy (which I brought months ago) It says “Be naughty save Santa the trip” so so pretty!

Dinner was lovely cooked by my partner, way too much food and I even had a cheeky glass of wine hehe

I have started working on “Tribal dragon” again. No time limit this time just taking it nice and slow and enjoying it. I’m struggling with the size of the stitches but then again I’m due an eye test.

Stitchey post

Hello my lovelies
The next update will be a progress pic! I got my order through from “cross stitch heaven” this morning and have spent the day kitting up my new project. Its “Tumbling snowmen” I’m not sure who designed it. It will be for my daughter for her first Christmas. I’m actually rather excited. I will be starting tomorrow as tonight I have been playing with sewing machines. My normal little one is missing a piece after I lent it out to someone so I have borrowed my mum’s old manual machine. I have fallen in love with this. It used to be my great-nanas. It’s amazingly heavy, I can’t move it by myself, it’s very old and oh so pretty. There’s something rather nice about using something that is older then you are! Anyway to try it out, being the first time I have ever used a manual machine, I hemmed the linen for my daughters stocking, and made my first pair of breast pads!

The kids are doing well; Esmai is gaining weight and is cutting her first tooth at 3 months. Connor is having behaviour issues at school but other than that life is great here!
I have been reading your blogs and everyone’s work is truly amazing

Grab a cuppa , lots of pics :D

Wow over a week without a post. Apparently January isn’t our month. My mum ended up in hospital for a few days but she’s at home now and slowly getting better. She had a small accident and her pain killers stopped working so her body went into shock and started shutting down.
PROUD MUMMY WARNING! : Connor is now potty trained during the day!!! His been almost 2 weeks without an accident. He is still wearing night time pants at night but has used the potty a few times. I was starting to get worried as he is due to start primary school in September. So glad it’s finally happened lol
So first up is a bit of progress on “Tribal dragon” the new bit is part of the head.

Next up is Connors 2nd pic with Santa. A local social club does a child’s party every year, they are really amazing.

I have had another scan now that I am over 3 months I can start to relax little. This is our little baby looking like a baby and not a blob!

Yesterday me and Connor made some yummy cakes. We had to colour in the cake cases and I got told off for going outside the lines!

Soon I will have a new start! It’s a Jessica Galbreth stocking. I fell in love with this as soon as I saw it on HAED but have put off starting. I plan on doing this for my mum as a Xmas present, although she might get it next year, I don’t want to under estimate how long it will take. I also want to do a xmas stocking for the new arrival but the one I have chosen is a simple cartoon one with snowmen...it’s so cute.

Grab a cuppa and some biccys. were finally back!!

Hello my lovelies how are you? I hope you all had a great Xmas and new year. Ours was quite Xmas day. Our first one at home by ourselves, it was lovely. We were all spoilt ( no stitchey stuff though )and I ate way too much! Boxing Day we went round my nanas for cold meat and mash which is one of my favourite meals! Yum yum! New Year’s Day we went round to my granddads for party games which was great fun as most of the family turnt up. Im sorry for not updating sooner but i have been drained 3 Days in hospital was a killer.

Connors health took a turn for the worse and after a quick visit to the doctor we ended up at the hospital. He couldn’t sit up by himself and was very sleepy. His tonsils were so swollen that he couldn’t swallow liquids or eat.  After while he was put on a drip as he was dehydrated after 6hours sleep during the day he really perked up. So we went home with an appointment the next morning to see the ENT specialist. Well we went back up the next morning and had been given the wrong time so we ended up missing him. We stayed in that day so they could keep an eye on Connor and do a sleep study that night. His sleep study showed that he does stop breathing in his sleep. By this time his tonsils was not swollen. We saw the ENT in the morning and his tonsils are naturally large. We are waiting for an appointment with a specialist anaesthetist as his so tiny, and then he will have to have an operation to remove his tonsils, ananiods, and grommets. Should be sometime in the next 2 months as it’s no longer an emergency. Then he will have another sleep study to check his breathing has improved. The ENT also reckons that his sleep apnea is why his not growing. The growth chemicals are released in deep sleep but because he stops breathing it means that the chemicals are not being released. So once we have his apnea sorted he should start growing. Maybe for the first time in almost 2 years! He still wears 12-18 months which is terrible as he will be 4 this year!
Perky Connor
I managed a little bit of stitching but not a lot as lights go out at 9 for parents too L mainly white on a snowman one but not worth showing a photo. I have kept up to date on all your blogs and your all doing so well I can’t believe how many finishes there has been already ....so come-on fess up ...what’s your secret? I plan on stitching tonight but I’m not rushing to finish the “A new baby” pillow just yet. I didn’t manage it before Xmas so will properly keep it till her first birthday which gives me 7-8 months to get it done. Ill properly leave it till last minute though. I would like to say a big THANK YOU!!! To Mouse after the plea for help in my last post she emailed me detailed directions and now it makes complete sense to me! Thank you! You are a star!
