leaps and bounds

I seem to be stitching in leaps and bounds lately. Here is a pic where I have left off for the night.  The feather is done and her dress is coming along nicely. I am hoping to have the dress completed by tomorrow bar the backstitching.

After my rather dodgy start the other day I have made progress. All in one night. I was like a stitching machine!
So here it is a new pic of Hidden spirits.

I’ve found working on a dark canvas is bloody hard. Her hair is finished and you can make out her arm. Im planning to work on her face later tonight but theres a stitch i don’t know how to do.

In non stitchey news i just wanted to tell you i have the world’s best partner. His absolutely amazing. I was sedated yesterday for some dentist work. Wow he looked after me, he has all weekend. His brilliant!!! Its slightly annoying that i cant even go to the dentist without coming out covered in bruises

It was a good start

As my son decided to have a three hour bath today I thought I might as well get some sneaky stitching in. That was great till I realised that all the stitching I done yesterday was the wrong way round. Yes the wrong sodding way around. The most basic and first mistake I could of possibly made and I go and do it. I could have cried. So I ripped it all out. While muttering under my breath. I took a deep breath and started it all over again. And I have actually made progress. So here it is:
                        Before                                                              After

I’m working on the lady first so she’s done and complete. I started the hand and it seems that she’s going to be quite tough to complete. There are so many colour changes and even a stitch I haven’t used before.

Its back!!!!

Woooo new cross stitch arrived today along with some small hoops I ordered form eBay. So I got stitching as soon as possible. Literally minutes after our house was viewed. As were looking into moving. I got straight into it.  Here is my progress so far. As its all half stitches at the moment progressing really quickly. I can’t wait to get stitching again tonight after we go to view another house who is interested in swapping. I think my mojo has returned whooooo

I have also have read that a lot of people stitch while travelling. Over the last few nights I have put together a couple of small cross stitch bags to take on trips with me. Little projects I should hopefully be able to finish in one or two journeys. I’m looking forward to trying them out on the next big trip I have to take to London for hospital appointments.

Quick pic update

Just a quick stitchey pic update.
Hopefully my new cross stitch will turn up soon

Monday, 14 March 2011

There’s not a whole lot of stitching to show so I won’t upload a pic. It’s got a little bit more blue then last time.
I found I have been getting bored with doing this, it’s started to make it progress really slow. So I have brought a new cross stitch which I plan to rotate maybe on a monthly or weekly basis. I notice that a lot of stitchers have a rotation plan, but I have no idea where to start at the moment.  Hopefully I won’t lose the will to stitch anymore.

This is the new cross stitch I brought: Hidden Spirits
I have been wishing for it for ages, although I wasn’t willing to pay the prices I had found it for. I spent a couple of hours looking around on eBay and found it! More than half the original price I have seen, well worth the time looking about.

In non stitchey news my son had his lovely hair chopped off today. I was almost in tears when the hair dresser took the first snip. His had trims before but never a cut like this. He behaved so well, if you ignore the fact he was flirting with the lady that done his hair. Here are the before and after pics

Before, look how beautiful it is.

Dangerous driving

I was crushed. By a couple of hundred tins of dog food. By my mother. On her mobility scooter.
My mother has one of those mobility scooters, amazing things but the owners should be made to take a driving test when they first get one. The reason why. My mother is a nightmare on it.

We were in a local shop and we decided to leave, instead of going the long way around she tries to reverse. Which wouldn’t be a problem if she could. She went zooming back into a display of dog food tins. Guess who was standing next to the damned thing. Yep me. I ended up on the floor with a couple of hundred tins of sodding dog food on me. You know what my mum did then, laughed! A shop assistant had to help me up and tidy up the mass of dog food. I managed to get up only to find mum reverse into a stack of kitchen role. So I have been on crutches since. Now I have pulled muscles in my side, stomach and neck I have a lot of bruising on my hands, I thought crutches was meant to be our friends.

I’m back on crutches yet again. My hands are bruised from using the crutches so I haven’t got a clue how long it will be before I can stitch properly again. Hopefully not too long.
